Our Story

Meet Jodie and Donna. Friends and ministry partners, ordained by God to start this ministry called Faithfully Fit. Donna had just moved to Roanoke Rapids, NC in January of 2010 with her husband, Justin (Calvary's youth pastor) and family. Jodie (and her family), very quickly and graciously, befriended the Fender family. God knew from the start the seeds that He was planting in each of their hearts and what was to come from their friendship.

After much prayer by both women, it was decided that they would pursue the ministry of Body and Soul, a national company providing church based exercise classes. They completed the applications, phone interviews and video demonstration and were accepted to the program, ready to fly off to Boston for training; but one thing was bothering them, there was a cost for the women to participate. So after encouragement from their pastor, they decided to develop their own program and offer it to the women of the Roanoke Valley free of charge. Thus the creation of Faithfully Fit. But God had so much more in store for them!

Faithfully Fit has just celebrated its' third "birthday", if you will, and is beginning its' fourth season of ministry. Reaching over 300 + women, through exercises classes and devotions, Faithfully Fit has grown from offering only two classes a week to offering six classes a week; from having two instructors to having five instructors; and from having one meeting place to three meeting places. And God has not stopped there. Faithfully Fit has hosted two "This One's For the Girls" Women's Conferences and is  planning for the third annual conference in 2014. But more than that is the testimony of the unity of this group of women from different backgrounds and churches, coming together to support and love one another and share the love of Jesus. For Faithfully Fit would be nothing without those women.

So what is our story? Our story is Jesus. His life on earth, His death on a cross, and His resurrection. His salvation, His love and His grace that is freely given in order to bring joy to us even in times when there seems to be no reason for the joy. For we have been called to do it all for His glory!

1 Corinthians 10:31
"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do; do it ALL for the glory of God"
